Using A 12 V Solar Charger For Hunting

There are a number of devices in today's marketplace that are able to recharge a battery. A 12 volt solar charger is comparable in price or slightly more, depending on the brand that is purchased. The good news is that these devices will save you a lot of money in the long run. This solar charger does not need to be plugged in and comes with many other benefits.

Plug in devices are more expensive to use because they consume more energy and hence you will have to pay more for your electricity. On the other hand, solar chargers do not use electricity to recharge batteries. It uses energy stored from the sun to recharge batteries.

People who are worried about the environment will approve of the concept of using a solar panel to recharge batteries that can energize a large variety of devices such as lanterns, flashlights, or power tools. They not only eliminate the use of power, but they are also convenient for outside activities where there are not sources of power available.

Camping and hunting trips mean plenty of preparation. Having a 12 Volt Solar Charger means less space is needed to pack extra batteries. This means that you can get to the hunting ground or camp site faster. To read my review of a wonderful homemade solar guide, visit GreenDIYEnergy.

With many products, the solar pan can be put anywhere that it is exposed to the sun. Certain models, such as the American Hunter BLEC 12, has a stand and can be rotated in any angle or direction. The American Hunter costs around $20 and is a cost effective alternative to carrying spare batteries.

Hunting or camping in the dark is challenging. Having a solar panel to keep batteries fully charged for a lantern or flashlight can give needed light without concerns that batteries will die at crucial times.

Another notable product is The Charge It brand manufactured by Tool King. This product is more expensive than the American Hunter but it can charge motorcycle and car batteries as well as flashlight batteries. It is quite versatile. It is triangular shaped and can stand or lie flat. This property makes it possible for car owners to place it under the hood of the car or a boat. It comes with a digital read out that lets the user know if clamps are connected properly and comes with different settings down to 2 amps for maintenance of batteries over the winter or for smaller devices. This product is priced around $70 and looks rugged for outdoor use.

Another model, The Sunforce Master Eliminator is made with nylon backing and has a folding solar panel. This model costs around $100 and has many benefits. The solar panel has a thin film that is said to increase efficiency of the panel in converting sunlight to electrical energy. The device folds into the nylon shell which makes it easy to carry just about anywhere. It can be taken on a backpacking trip and can just as easily be used on the side of the road.

Anyone who wants an alternative source for charging batteries can find a model to meet specific needs and that is within the budget. Having a device like this for outdoor use and for charging batteries is smart. It eliminates the need for long power cords, and can be taken to places where electricity is not available.
